Cleveland Indians right-hander Trevor Bauer leads the big leagues with 109.3 pitches per game this season.

The 27-year-old emerging star would not have it any other way.

“I feel great Customized Indianapolis Colts Jerseys ,” Bauer said to the Cleveland Plain Dealer when asked about his high pitch counts. “I recover really well, and I’m glad I can get deep in the game for the team.”

Bauer will go for another triple-digit performance Wednesday night when Cleveland (35-30) visits Chicago (23-42) for the third contest of a four-game series at Guaranteed Rate Field. The teams have split the series’ first two games, with the Indians posting a 4-0 victory Monday and the White Sox bouncing back for a 5-1 win Tuesday.

It is not impossible for the White Sox to beat Bauer, but the challenge will be steep.

The right-hander is 5-4 with a 2.62 ERA in 13 starts this season. He has walked 29 and struck out 109 in 86 innings. He has registered double-digit strikeouts in each of his past three outings and in five starts overall this season.

No wonder Indians manager Terry Francona has left Bauer in the game for 100-plus pitches in every start this year.

“I just don’t see a reason (to pull him),” Francona said to the Plain Dealer. “I just feel he deserves to stay out there.”

In 14 career games (12 starts) against the White Sox, Bauer is 6-2 with a 3.55 ERA. He has fanned 89 in 76 innings.

The White Sox will counter with right-hander Dylan Covey (2-1, 2.22 ERA), who has emerged as an early bright spot during a rebuilding season. The 26-year-old struggled badly as a rookie in 2017, but he has looked much better since being promoted from Triple-A Charlotte in late May. He has not allowed an earned run in either of his past two starts.

In three career games (one start) against Cleveland, Covey is 0-0 with a 3.68 ERA.

Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor will try to stay hot at the plate after going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles Tuesday. The 24-year-old has a team-leading 23 doubles to go along with 14 home runs and 35 RBIs.

Five Indians players already have double-digit home runs. Jose Ramirez leads the group with 19, while Edwin Encarnacion (16) and Lindor (14) round out the top three. Yonder Alonso and Michael Brantley have 11 apiece.

Chicago is led in homers by Matt Davidson and Tim Anderson, who each have 11.

White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu will look for another strong game as he tries to strengthen his case to be a starter in the All-Star Game at Nationals Park. The 31-year-old is hitting .286 with 10 home runs and 38 RBIs Bob Uecker Jersey , and his 25 doubles lead the club.

A second All-Star appearance would be special for Abreu.

“It will be excellent because we play this game for the fans,” Abreu said via an interpreter to mlb.com. “To have the honor to represent them, and they know what I’m doing, that is really big. If that happens, I would be really happy.”

A poised and productive Ricky Rubio has been smiling and laughing, masterfully running Utah’s offense in his matchup with Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook.

Meanwhile, the reigning league MVP has been scowling, shoving, fouling, complaining and most of all – losing.

It’s fair to say Rubio has been more effective for the Jazz.

The Rubio-Westbrook matchup mirrors what is happening throughout the NBA playoffs: The team that gets the best point guard play usually wins.

Rubio’s all-around success has the Jazz on the brink of advancing. Utah has a 3-1 lead on the Thunder and can finish the series Wednesday night in Oklahoma City.

He summed up his play after Game 2, saying ”I did my job, looking for my teammates Youth Roquan Smith Jersey , and looking for my shot too when it was open. I just took what the game gave me and watched film and got better and we played as a team.”

Maybe it is just that simple.

Rubio is averaging 18.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8 assists per game against Oklahoma City, all well above his regular season numbers. The 27-year-old is in the first playoff series of his seven-year career, yet he is playing like a seasoned veteran.

Westbrook and the Thunder have tried to throw Rubio off his game, maybe to a fault.

Westbrook has lost his focus at times. He is averaging 21.3 points, 11.8 rebounds and 8.3 assists in the series, but he’s shooting just 37 percent from the field and 21 percent from 3-point range.

Rubio went for a triple-double in a Game 3 victory , the first playoff triple-double for the franchise since John Stockton had one in 2001.

Westbrook said he’d shut down Rubio in Game 4, but his efforts backfired – Rubio got more of Westbrook’s attention, and the Thunder weren’t as effective helping on Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, Utah’s two best players. Westbrook was overly aggressive and had four fouls at halftime. The Jazz rolled 113-96 . On Tuesday, he was fined $10 Connor Williams Jersey ,000 and assessed a postgame technical foul for initiating a confrontation with Gobert in the fourth quarter of Monday’s game.

Westbrook toned down the situation with Rubio after the game.

”It wasn’t about me or him,” he said. ”Let’s get past that. We’re done with that.”

Looking around the playoffs, that’s probably a good thing.

How goes a team’s point guard, so goes the team.

New Orleans’ Rajon Rondo and Philadelphia’s Ben Simmons are among the point guards whose play has lifted their teams.

That has been true in the matchup between Toronto’s Kyle Lowry and Washington’s John Wall. In Toronto’s two wins, Lowry averaged 10.5 assists, but 6.5 in two losses. Wall averaged 27.5 points and 14 assists as Washington won two games to even the series.

The 32-year-old Rondo appeared to be overmatched heading into the matchup with Portland’s Damian Lillard but showed he is not past his prime.

Rondo averaged 11.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 13.3 assists to help the New Orleans sweep the Trail Blazers. Lillard averaged just 18.5 points in the series, eight below his regular-season average, and shot just 35 percent from the field.

Philadelphia’s Simmons has averaged 19.3 points, 10.8 rebounds and 9.8 assists t help the 76ers take a 3-1 lead in their series against the Miami Heat. In Game 4, he had the first triple-double for a rookie in a playoff game since Magic Johnson in 1980.

Miami’s Goran Dragic is playing well, too – he’s averaging 19.5 points and shooting 49 percent. But when Simmons has been special Authentic Customized Broncos Jerseys , the 76ers have won.

Milwaukee’s Eric Bledsoe and Boston’s Terry Rozier have gone back and forth on the court and in the media. Rozier dominated the first two games – both Boston wins – averaging 23 points on 47 percent shooting while Bledsoe averaged 10.5 points and shot 36 percent.

Bledsoe won the next two matchups, and so did the Bucks. Bledsoe averaged 13 points on 50 percent shooting while Rozier averaged 9.5 points on 26 percent shooting.

Rubio doesn’t have to statistically out-perform Westbrook, who has averaged a triple-double the past two seasons. For Rubio, the key has been not trying to do too much. Just be the team’s floor general.

On offense, he takes open shots and finds his teammates. On defense, he can take chances because the 7-foot-1 Gobert can erase most mistakes.

”That is our strength,” Rubio said. ”Play as a team and get a win.”

One more Utah win and Oklahoma City’s season is done.

For Colin Campbell Cheap Arden Key Jersey , going from Mike Keenan’s top assistant to head coach of the New York Rangers wasn’t a big move.

”I just had to move 10 feet to another office,” Campbell said.

Logistically it was simple, but in every other way it was an almost-impossible task. Campbell took over the Rangers after they ended a 54-year drought and paraded the Stanley Cup down Broadway because Keenan left in a contract dispute.

It’s a similar situation to the one Todd Reirden is walking into after the Washington Capitals promoted him from associate to head coach to replace Barry Trotz mere weeks after winning the Cup. Reirden is just the fourth new coach in the past 30 years to assume control of a Stanley Cup champion, a unique opportunity that presents problems Campbell, Scotty Bowman and Dave Lewis know well from their experiences.

Lewis succeeded Bowman after being his associate coach with the champion 2002 Detroit Red Wings, and Bowman stepped in for ”Badger” Bob Johnson after he led the Pittsburgh Penguins to the Cup in 1991 and had to take a leave of absence to fight cancer. All three had to balance the opportunity of taking over with the expectation of following a Cup-winning coach and the ensuing pressure.

”Besides replacing a legend, to be equal, you have to win the Stanley Cup, so it was a big challenge,” Lewis said. ”I was looking forward to the challenge, actually, of taking over a team, taking over a team that won a Stanley Cup and try to accomplish the same thing. I knew it would be very difficult.”

Or as Campbell pointed out: ”You can only tie. You can’t do better. Tying’s pretty good. You have to win a Cup just tie your performance from a year before.”

No pressure, Todd.

Only Bowman – who already had five Cup rings from the Montreal Canadiens’ 1970s dynasty – pulled it off and repeated. And even that was a different set of circumstances because as director of player development Authentic Customized Dolphins Jerseys , Bowman only agreed to coach the Penguins until Johnson was able to resume coaching or succumbed to cancer.

”We wanted to have him keep fighting for his life,” Bowman said. ”When he passed away, we had not had a great start that second year. We had the Stanley Cup hangover, and the people that ran the team – the owners and that – they didn’t feel it was a good idea to put a guy in in November, early December. I only agreed to do it until one of those two things happened. But then when he passed away, they didn’t think it was easy for a young guy to come in that didn’t know the team. So I said, `OK I’ll finish the season.’

Reirden is far more like Campbell and Lewis in that he was Trotz’s top assistant and the de-facto candidate to step in when change happened. Campbell and Lewis had plenty of experience and were familiar with players like Reirden, but neither had been an NHL head coach before and had to learn on the fly.

”Being an assistant coach, you communicate differently, you just organize things differently,” Lewis said. ”You can’t do is you can’t change your personality. The players know you as an assistant coach. They know you as a human being and how you react to things at an assistant level. So I guess the biggest adjustment is how to react to things as a head coach. … When you’re a head coach, everything falls on your shoulders.”

For some, that’s a natural fit. Bowman stepped right into the NHL with the expansion St. Louis Blues in 1967-68 and led them to the Cup Final three consecutive years.

Nine rings later, it’s clear the legendary Bowman just had a knack for this thing that helped him win with three different teams.

”When you’re an assistant coach Authentic Clive Walford Jersey , the thing is you’ve got to put your foot down right from the start,” Bowman said. ”You’re no longer an assistant coach.”

That’s just the beginning of the advice for Reirden, who at 47 has coached in the American Hockey League and spent eight years behind the bench as an assistant with Pittsburgh and Washington. When Trotz resigned and joined the New York Islanders, Reirden was the only candidate to be the Capitals’ coach – and now it’s his time to figure it out.

”It’s a challenge,” Lewis said. ”There’s no easy head-coaching jobs in the National hockey League. He knows the team. He’s been with them when they’ve been successful. He’s been with them when they’ve stumbled and had some failures. Just be yourself is my only advice that I can give.”

Campbell waited out a half-season lockout in 1994-95 and so badly wanted to win his head-coaching debut on banner-raising night – when he only found out after warmups captain Mark Messier would be in the lineup. Knowing a thing about pressure under the New York spotlight, Campbell hopes Reirden doesn’t pile up too much of it on himself.

”There would be pressure on Barry if he came back,” Campbell said. ”Don’t try to be like Barry. They were a goalpost from being down 3-0. They’re a good team, a deep team, but it’s tough to win the Cup. He knows that team, he knows those players. He doesn’t have to change anything. But he’s got to be Todd, not Barry or anybody else. He’s been around long enough. Just don’t put undue pressure on yourself, that’s all, because it’s tough.”

Alex Ovechkin, Braden Holtby and the Washington Capitals stayed cool in the 100-degree Vegas heat and evened the Stanley Cup Final.

Holtby made 37 saves http://www.eaglesauthorizedshops.com/authentic-dallas-goedert-jersey , Ovechkin scored a power-play goal and Lars Eller added a goal and two assists in the Capitals’ 3-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 2.

The Caps hung on through a scoreless third period for their first Stanley Cup Final victory in franchise history largely because of a bounce-back performance by Holtby, who was battered in Vegas’ 6-4 series-opening win. Holtby capped his energetic performance with a jaw-dropping stick save with 1:59 to play, stretching back to rob Alex Tuch of a possible tying goal.

Brooks Orpik ended a personal 220-game drought with the eventual winning goal for the Caps, who rebounded from a ramshackle loss in the opener and handed the expansion Golden Knights only their second home defeat – the first in regulation – in Vegas’ nine postseason games.

James Neal and Shea Theodore scored and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 23 shots for the upstart Knights.

BASEBALL

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) – Nathan Eovaldi pitched six innings of no-hit ball in his return to the majors following a second Tommy John surgery, leading the Tampa Bay Rays to a 6-0 victory over the Oakland Athletics.

Eovaldi (1-0) faced one over the minimum through six innings in his Tampa Bay debut. He threw 70 pitches and had four strikeouts. The only runner to reach base against him was Matt Chapman, who drew a one-out walk in the first.

Wilmer Font, acquired by the Rays from the A’s last Friday, gave up Jed Lowrie’s one-out single in the seventh for Oakland’s only hit of the game. Vidal Nuno got the last three outs to finish the one-hitter.

Rob Refsnyder hit a three-run home run off A’s starter Sean Manaea (5-6), and Johnny Field also homered for the Rays.

The game drew an announced crowd of 6,295, the smallest at the Coliseum since April 3, 2003.

Eovaldi last pitched in the majors on Aug. 10, 2016 Jose Cruz Jr. Jersey , for the Yankees.

NFL

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Lawyers for the NFL urged a federal judge to appoint a special investigator to look into what the league said is extensive fraud in claims on the $1 billion concussion settlement.

NFL attorneys said a study by the independent auditors in the claims process showed about 440 claims were flagged for denial based on evidence of fraud by attorneys, doctors or former players. Lawyers representing the former players and their estates said most of the opportunity for fraud has been resolved because anyone filing a claim after the settlement’s effective date has to see a neuro-specialist from a list of approved certified physicians.

The settlement, which took effect January 2017, resolved thousands of lawsuits that accused the NFL of hiding what it knew about the risks of repeated concussions.

It covers retired players who develop Lou Gehrig’s disease, dementia or other neurological problems believed to be caused by concussions suffered during their pro careers, with awards as high as $5 million for the most serious cases.

CLEVELAND (AP) – Browns safety Damarious Randall underestimated two things: the power of social media and passion of Cleveland fans.

Randall said he never imagined that an innocent Twitter posting about the NBA Finals would blow up into a national story – and maybe something he lives to regret.

A big fan of Golden State star guard Stephen Curry, Randall posted a tweet on Monday night promising that if the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Warriors in the ”2018 NBA finals, I’ll buy everyone who retweet’s this a jersey.”

By Wednesday afternoon, Randall’s tweet had been retweeted 869,000 times.

Randall, who came to the Browns in a March trade from Green Bay, said he couldn’t track the number of re-tweets because his phone locked up when he tried to access his Twitter account.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) – The San Francisco 49ers are easing linebacker Reuben Foster back into the system after he missed the start of the offseason program while dealing with a domestic violence case that was eventually dropped.

Foster was not allowed to participate in the offseason program until a judge ruled last week that he wouldn’t have to stand trial on domestic violence charges. The judge determined there was no evidence that Foster ever hit his ex-girlfriend.

Foster rejoined the Niners last Thursday but has been held out of team drills as he gets back into form after missing more than five weeks of the offseason program while waiting for his case to be resolved.

He took part in individual drills during organized team activities but spent the time during team drills doing conditioning or watching teammates.

PITTSBURGH (AP) – The Pittsburgh Steelers are ditching their ”bumble bee” throwback uniforms for something with a more 1970s feel.

The team announced it will wear replica jerseys of the 1978 and 1979 clubs that won back-to-back Super Bowls when the Steelers host the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 28. Team president Art Rooney II said the choice of using the `78-79 jersey was fitting. The franchise will spend the next two seasons honoring the 40th anniversary of the teams that pushed Pittsburgh’s Super Bowl total during the 1970s to four.

The move means the Steelers are ending the use of their 1933 throwbacks that featured black-and-gold horizontal stripes that made the team resemble a pack of bees.

After showing incredible basketball

Houston Astros catcher Brian McCann finally got to a point that something had to be done to try to fix his troublesome right knee.

McCann had arthroscopic surgery Tuesday after going on the disabled list for the second time this season Authentic Robert Golden Jersey , and the third time in less than a year, because of knee discomfort.

Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow told MLB.com and the Houston Chronicle during a 5-3 win at Texas that the team was optimistic that the surgery would resolve the issue that kept recurring. While not specific about the procedure or a timetable, the GM said he’d expect McCann back in September to get ready for October.

Manager A.J. Hinch said before the Astros’ 5-3 win at Texas that he and McCann had a long conversation about the knee problems when the team played in Tampa last weekend.

”It’s just continually the same issue over and over with his right knee,” Hinch said. ”One of the options is surgery, and he went back to Houston to take care of it.”

Catcher Tim Federowicz, who made two starts earlier this season when McCann was on the DL, was promoted from Triple-A Fresno.

Max Stassi was the Astros’ starting catcher Tuesday night against the Rangers. Hinch said Stassi would get the bulk of the catching during McCann’s absence.

But Stassi never got behind the plate against the Rangers. He was hit by a pitch on his right (throwing) wrist while batting in the first inning. He stayed in the game to run, but Federowicz went to catch when the Astros took the field.

X-rays were negative, but Stassi has a bruised wrist and was considered day to day.

Shortstop Carlos Correa, who has been out since June 26 because of lower back soreness, also was back in Houston. He is eligible to come off the DL as early as Friday, though Hinch wasn’t sure if Correa would be ready to play then.

”He’s been reporting to Minute Maid (Park) every day and working with our people there,” Hinch said. ”The good news is that everything has been a step forward. The uncertainty is still we haven’t done any baseball activities yet Matt Adams Jersey , so we don’t know how that’s going to impact his timeline until we get home.”

McCann missed nine games during his first DL stint this season before being activated June 8, the last time Houston played at the Rangers.

He was also on the DL for 11 days last August because of right knee soreness before the Astros went on to win their first World Series title. McCann played in all seven World Series games.

His latest DL move was retroactive to Monday, a day off for Houston.

McCann has hit .206 with five homers and 17 RBIs in 50 games this season. He was in a 1-for-26 slump before going on the DL for the first time this season on May 29. He hit .171 (7-of-41) with one homer and three RBIs in his 13 games in June after returning from the DL.

Stassi has hit .255 with seven homers and 22 RBIs in 49 games for the Astros. Federowicz hit .328 with six homers and 22 RBIs in 38 games at Fresno.

”I have a lot of confidence in Stassi and Fed, both with major league time,” Hinch said. ”They’re comfortable, they know our pitchers, they know our program, our preparation, all things that make me feel really good about going into each particular game.”

— The Arizona Cardinals have lost starting center A.Q. Shipley for the season with a torn right ACL and will replace him with rookie Mason Cole.

Coach Steve Wilks confirmed the injury Monday, saying the center “heard something pop” in his knee during a goal-line drill in training camp on Saturday.

Shipley, a six-year NFL veteran, started all 16 games each of the past two seasons, the only member of the Cardinals offensive line to play every game either year. Wilks called him “a tremendous leader and hard worker.”

“When you talk about the DNA that I look for Mason Cole Color Rush Jersey , a guy that loves the game, very passionate, gritty,” Wilks said. “He really was the leader up front.”

Shipley signed with Arizona as a free agent in 2015, working his way to a starting role after bouncing around the NFL early in his career.

“Coach (offensive coordinator Mike) McCoy said it best,” right guard Justin Pugh said. “He’s the heartbeat of the offensive line. So it’s’ definitely tough news to hear and knowing everything he’s been through in his career.”

The 6-foot-5, 307-pound Cole is a third-round draft pick out of Michigan, where he was a four-year starter but only one — his junior year — was at center.

The Cardinals, though, drafted him as a center and he’s been working at that position through the offseason.

“I learned a lot from him (Shipley) my first few months of being here and still will learn a lot from him,” Cole said, “but I’m confident I can fill in and hopefully play as good as he has.”

Shipley was drafted in the seventh round out of Penn State by Pittsburgh in 2009 but didn’t make an active roster until 2012, when he was promoted from the practice squad by Indianapolis. He played two seasons for the Colts Authentic Adrian Clayborn Jersey , sandwiched around one year with Baltimore.

He wasn’t regarded as one of the top centers around the NFL but inside the Cardinals organization, his worth has been considerable.

“I didn’t watch much Cardinals football last year, obviously,” said Pugh, who came to Arizona after five seasons with the New York Giants. “You get in this building and you realize who runs things and who does things the right way and A.Q. is one of those guys.”

Wilks said he watched video of Shipley’s injury “12 or 15 times.”

“I really couldn’t see anything malicious or anybody that fell into his leg,” he said. “I think it really just got caught up in the turf and he was engaged and he said he heard it pop.”

Shipley was able to walk off the field but was carted from there to the locker room, a towel draped over his head.

Cole started all 51 games at Michigan after arriving on campus, tying a school record.

“I played early in college and I think that helps me in situations like this,” he said, “but also coming from Michigan and (coach Jim) Harbaugh’s staff and Harbaugh’s offense, I think that gives me a little upper hand here, too, just in terms of learning the offense and knowing what to do.”

As center Buccaneers Elite Jerseys , Cole will be responsible for making the offensive line play calls.

“Mentally is going to be the biggest challenge,” Pugh said. “For me (coming into the NFL) it was more physical because I was out there playing tackle. Obviously I had to know the playbook, know what I had to do. The center’s got to know what everyone has to do.”

Pugh said he and the other linemen will help Cole, as will veteran quarterback Sam Bradford.

Serious injury is always lurking around the corner in the NFL.

“It’s an evil of this game that you don’t want to see happen and when it happens to one of your leaders it definitely hurts,” Pugh said, “but we’ve got to rally behind the guys that are out there.”

Evan Boehm and Daniel Munyer will be the backups to Cole. Both also play guard. Boehm was drafted in the fourth round out of Missouri in 2016. Munyer, an undrafted free agent out of Colorado in 2016, played 10 offensive snaps against Dallas and was active for four other games — but did not play — before his season ended with a toe injury in early November.

The Cardinals also will look for possible help from unsigned players or those released by other teams in the coming weeks.

Former Louisville coach Rick Pitino believes the school should take legal action against the NCAA after the governing body nullified the Cardinals of the 2013 men’s basketball title.

Pitino http://www.seahawksauthorizedshops.com/authentic-ed-dickson-jersey , speaking from his attorney’s offices, said that the NCAA’s decision to have Louisville vacate the title as part of sanctions for a sex scandal was unfair.

The sex scandal occurred during Pitino’s coaching tenure, though the Hall of Fame coach once again reiterated that he didn’t know about the sex shows. Pitino did take responsibility for the people he hired as assistant coaches – including Andre McGee. It was McGee who an escort said hired her and other dancers for sex parties on campus with players and recruits that led to the NCAA investigation.

As for taking legal action himself, Pitino said he was defenseless in this situation, but he is suing Louisville for his dismissal. He was not fired after the sex scandal, but Louisville let him go in October after the school acknowledged the university was being investigated as part of a federal college corruption case.

That case is unrelated to the NCAA’s investigation of the sex scandal.

NBA

DALLAS (AP) – The NBA fined outspoken Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban $600,000 on Wednesday for comments about tanking during a podcast with Hall of Famer Julius Erving.

Commissioner Adam Silver said the fine was for ”public statements detrimental to the NBA.” The league said the podcast with Erving was posted Sunday, the day the All-Star game was played in Los Angeles.

Cuban said during the 30-minute interview that he met recently with some of his players and told them ”losing is our best option.” Cuban was trying to illustrate to Erving how he believes he is a transparent owner.

After trading veteran guard Devin Harris to Denver at the deadline this season http://www.49ersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-mike-mcglinchey-jersey , Dallas (18-40) is tied for the fewest wins in the NBA and among seven teams with 18 or 19 victories at the All-Star break.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Dirk Nowitzki said he was ”disgusted” to read about allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct by former team president Terdema Ussery in a Sports Illustrated report that described a hostile workplace for women.

The 20-year player who has spent his entire career with the Mavericks told reporters after the first post-All-Star break practice in Los Angeles that he was glad the franchise was addressing the situation by hiring outside counsel to investigate the allegations.

Ussery was accused of making sexually suggestive remarks to several women. He spent 18 years with the team before going to the sports apparel company Under Armour in 2015. Ussery, who was investigated by the team over similar claims in 1998, denied the allegations in a statement to SI.

NHL

LAS VEGAS (AP) – Another game, another record for the Vegas Golden Knights.

Alex Tuch scored the tiebreaking goal in the second period and Vegas pulled away for a 7-3 victory over the Calgary Flames. The win moved the Golden Knights back atop the NHL standings with 84 points – a record for an expansion team in its inaugural season – one point ahead of Eastern Conference-leading Tampa Bay.

Vegas improved to 23-4-2 at home to also set the record for home wins by a team in its inaugural season. It topped the previous mark set by the Gordie Howe-lead 1979-80 Whalers (22-12-6).

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) – The Arizona Coyotes acquired goalie Darcy Kuemper from the Los Angeles Kings for forward Tobias Rieder and goalie Scott Wedgewood.

The 27-year-old Kuemper was 10-1-3 with a 2.10 goals-against average in 19 games for the Kings this season. He’s 51-35-17 with a 2.52 GAA in 104 career games with Minnesota and Los Angeles.

The 6-foot-5 Kuemper will join No. 1 goalie Antti Raanta as the netminding pair for the Coyotes.

Kuemper and the Coyotes were finalizing a contract extension Wednesday night. He said he is excited to be part of the growth of an Arizona franchise with a lot of young players.

The 25-year-old Rieder, from Germany, had eight goals and 11 assists in 58 games for Arizona this season. He has 51 goals and 60 assists in 292 career games, all with the Coyotes.

Wedgewood was 5-9-4 with a 3.45 GAA in 20 games this season for Arizona. The 25-year-old goalie appeared in four games for New Jersey in 2015-16.

NFL

CHARLOTTE Cheap Russell Bodine Jersey , N.C. (AP) – Marty Hurney will be calling the shots once again with the Carolina Panthers.

Carolina re-hired Hurney as its general manager, marking his second full-time stint as general manager. Hurney previously worked for the Panthers from 1998-2012, beginning as GM in 2002. He rejoined the Panthers last July as on an interim basis.

Panthers COO Tina Becker said Hurney did an ”exceptional” job in helping the Panthers to an 11-5 season last year.

The Panthers reinstated Hurney as interim general manager last week after an NFL investigation found no wrongdoing into charges of harassment by his ex-wife. Hurney had been on a paid leave of absence during the investigation and had disputed all accusations through his attorney.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have hired former NFL player Brentson Buckner as defensive line coach.

Buckner spent the past five seasons as defensive line coach for the Arizona Cardinals. They had 203 sacks during his tenure – tied for the seventh-most in the NFL.

The Bucs were last in the league with 22 sacks in 2017.

Buckner was a second-round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1994. He also played for the Cincinnati Bengals, San Francisco 49ers and Carolina Panthers during a 12-year career.

The Bucs also announced Coach Hue Jackson is leaning on his Browns family while mourning the deaths of his mother and brother.

Jackson's mother Betty Lee Jackson and brother John Jr., recently died within a two-week span. Jackson's 83-year-old mother passed away on Sunday in Los Angeles following a lengthy illness.

Jackson has been coping with the losses during training camp and intends to stay with the team through the Aug. 9 exhibition opener against the New York Giants. Jackson, who is in this third season with Cleveland, plans to leave for California following the game for his mother's funeral.

He will rejoin the Browns for practice on Aug. 12. The team had pre-planned off days on Aug. 10-11.

In the meantime Authentic Joel Iyiegbuniwe Jersey , Jackson said he has received support from players, fellow coaches and owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam.

"It's been a difficult period of time for me, but everyone has to go through this in life," Jackson said. "It's not easy, but I always try to focus on the fond memories I've shared with the people I've lost and that helps get you through it. Dee, Jimmy, our players, coaches and really the entire organization have been so supportive and that helps. We're a close-knit group Cheap Alex McGough Jersey , this is a family and I'm so appreciative of everyone's support."

Browns tight end coach Greg Season has known Jackson for years. They worked together at the University of Pacific and with the Cincinnati Bengals.

"He's a tough-minded individual," Seamon said Thursday between practice sessions. "It's been an unusually tragic two weeks and it comes at a time when things are already very stressful. Hue does a great job compartmentalizing things. And when he has to be the head football coach in front of the team, he's done that. And then when that's over and he needs to address the family issues, he certainly has done that.

"His mother put up a long and courageous fight."

After signing veteran quarterback Case Keenum to a two-year contract worth $36 million Vita Vea Youth Jersey , the Denver Broncos are dealing former starter Trevor Siemian to the Minnesota Vikings, per Ian Rapoport:From earlier on @nflnetwork: The #Broncos traded former starting QB Trevor Siemian to the #Vikings, who have a whole new QB room. pic.twitter.com/TnS0ZBwAjc— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 14, 2018The Broncos will also package a 2018 draft pick, while Minnesota will send a 2019 selection the other way. With that, the Vikings have a backup for newly-signed Kirk Cousins - who inked a three-year deal worth $84 million earlier in the week.Siemian was expendable in Denver, after the team signed Keenum. They already have 2016 first-rounder Paxton Lynch on the roster, and it's expected they'll draft another quarterback this year - perhaps with the fifth-overall choice.Following Peyton Manning's retirement and Brock Osweiler's departure for the Houston Texans in 2016, Siemian became Denver's starter for the 2016 season. He was drafted with the 250th pick in 2015, and was part of the Super Bowl 50 championship-winning squad.Siemian showed promise in 2016, tossing 3 Chris Owings Jersey ,401 yards, 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He then led Denver to a 3-1 start in 2017, but a handful of awful聽performances saw Osweiler take the starting job away from Siemian - who finished the campaign with 2,285 yards, 12 touchdowns and 14 picks.Minnesota let Teddy Bridgewater (signed with the New York Jets), Sam Bradford (Arizona Cardinals), and Keenum (Denver) all walk in free agency, but Cousins and Siemian provide an excellent combo at QB for the NFC runner-ups.For the Broncos, a reset at the QB position was necessary after registering their first losing season in seven years. GM John Elway knew it was time to cut ties with Siemian, who's better off being a career back up.Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer never gave a full vote of confidence to Keenum, so it wasn't a surprise when GM Rick Spielman decided to upgrade. Cousins is unquestionably the No. 1 starter Youth Dalton Schultz Jersey , but Siemian will be able to fill in any time it's required. — Pittsburgh Steelers rookie quarterback Mason Rudolph exudes confidence heading into his first NFL preseason game Thursday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Rudolph admitted that jitters may be there as the Steelers prepare to face the defending Super Bowl champions in Philadelphia. But the Steelers’ third-round pick has settled into a comfort zone two weeks into training camp.

“It’s just football,” Rudolph said. “I think everyone has a little bit of nerves because it’s going to be the first one back. But just like your debut in college, you get out there, you make a completion and it starts flowing like football has always been.”

Rudolph is in a fight for the backup quarterback spot behind Ben Roethlisberger. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Rudolph will see time under center against the Eagles, along with veteran Landry Jones and Josh Dobbs, the Steelers’ fourth-round pick a year ago.

Tomlin is eager to see how Rudolph can direct the offense and maintain possession.

“Mason’s done a really good job, but he hasn’t been hit,” Tomlin said. “Ball security is much more difficult in-stadium because a training camp environment is controlled in a lot of ways. You don’t touch or get close to the quarterback, so a quarterback’s ability to secure the football doesn’t get tested until they play in-stadium preseason football.”

Rudolph will have an opportunity to show how far he’s come since the Steelers traded up to select the Oklahoma State star with the 76th overall pick, the highest the organization has taken a quarterback since Roethlisberger was the 11th overall selection in 2004.

During spring practices, Rudolph impressed Authentic Arden Key Jersey , but he also missed a couple center-quarterback exchanges after working almost exclusively out of the shotgun both in high school and at Oklahoma State.

“We cleaned it up for the most part,” Rudolph said. “I’m just starting to feel a lot more comfortable under center after not doing it the last eight years of my life.”

Rudolph also had an inauspicious start at training camp when he ran a bootleg to the right and fumbled his first pass attempt backward. That gaffe is far from Rudolph’s mind.

“I could (not) care less about the first pass,” Rudolph said. “I have a lot of first passes. I had my first pass in OTAs and rookie minicamp. I’m thinking about the next pass. If one play goes bad, the next play can be the one that wins it, or gets you back in the game.”

Rudolph has found his groove after a rocky first week at camp. The rookie looked comfortable and crisp while running the two-minute offense at the end of a practice last week. Rudolph finished the drill an efficient 5 of 6 for 52 yards, which included a practice-ending 14-yard touchdown pass to rookie running back Jaylen Samuels.

“I just want to progress,” Rudolph said. “You obviously dream about playing in the NFL, but once you get here, you take it one day at a time. I think that’s the way I’ve approached practice and it has gone well.

“I’m just focused on completing passes and making sure I’m taking mental steps forward every day.”

The next step forward for Rudolph will be into a NFL stadium for his preseason debut — against an opposing defense.

“You’re playing your own team every single day and you get frustrated because they start to learn your calls, they’re cheating on your install sheet, printing your stuff out and trying to game plan against you Cheap Barkevious Mingo Jersey ,” Rudolph said. “And then you get out there in a game and it’s easy because those guys are scared, they’re all tight, they want to be in their spots, they don’t want to get yelled at by their coach, and you end up scoring points and driving down the field. That’s the way I feel this will go.”

NOTES: Tomlin said Roethlisberger won’t play Thursday against Philadelphia. . Wide receiver Antonio Brown missed practice again Tuesday, but he worked out alone on an adjoining field. He will miss Thursday’s game along with LBs Bud Dupree and T.J. Watt, and TE Vance McDonald.

Jose Bautista had never before experienced the euphoria of a game-ending home run during his 15-year big league career. He can add that to his list of accomplishments.

Bautista’s grand slam with two outs in theninth inning lifted the New York Mets over the Tampa Bay Rays 5-1 on Friday night.

”I was aware of it Baker Mayfield Jersey ,” Bautista of his first walk-off homer. ”I guess sometimes it just takes a while.”

Todd Frazier walked and Devin Mesoraco singled to open the ninth against Chaz Roe (1-2). Amed Rosario’s sacrifice advanced the runners, Roe retired pinch-hitter Dominic Smith on a comebacker and intentionally walked Brandon Nimmo to load the bases.

Roe tried to come inside with a sinker on the first pitch to the slugger, who has 32 home runs in 157 games against Tampa Bay.

”Tried to get ahead early with the sinker and got too much of the plate,” Roe said. ”I knew he was swinging there.”

It was Bautista’s sixth homer of the season and gave the Mets their third win in their last 19 games at home.

Bautista remained unsigned through spring training, signed with Atlanta on April 18 and was promoted to the majors on May 4. He appeared at third base – a position he hadn’t played in years – and hit .143 (5 for 35) with a two homers and five RBIs in 12 games before he was released on May 20.

Lacking power after Yoenis Cespedes went on the disabled list, New York took a chance on Bautista two days later.

In 39 games with the Mets, the 37-year-old has hit .227 with four home runs and 18 RBIs. But over his last 17 games, Bautista is hitting .330 (15 for 50) with four homers and 15 RBIs.

And he’s certainly amazed Mets manager Mickey Callaway.

”I think that from what we’ve seen as a Met, it’s been outstanding,” Callaway said.” Top-tier production out of a guy that we got from Atlanta, who let him go. So that’s surprising. Now the guy himself, who has a body of a 25-year-old, stays in shape? Can never count those guys out.”

Tampa Bay had a chance to take the lead in the top of the ninth against Jeurys Familia (4-4).

He Daniel Robertson with a pitch, loading the bases, and first baseman Wilmer Flores threw out pinch-runner Hunter Wood at the plate despite his high throw following Mallex Smith’s grounder. Umpires confirmed the call after Tampa Bay challenged.

Familia then struck out Willy Adames to end the threat.

Jacob deGrom was once again stellar for the Mets Kurt Suzuki Jersey , allowing just one run and four hits while striking out eight and issuing one walk over eight innings.

It was the ninth no-decision for the staff ace.

”Like I said before, the goal is to win, whether I get the win or somebody else,” deGrom said. ”The goal is to win baseball games and we got a win tonight.”

Asdrubal Cabrera gave the Mets a 1-0 lead in the third with an RBI single.

DeGrom, who has an 1.80 ERA in nine starts at Citi Field this season, gave up a tying solo homer to Adames in the fifth.

AN EYE FOR INTERNATIONAL TALENT

New York announced the signings of their top two targets in the new international free agent period. The Mets gave a franchise-record $2.7 million signing bonus to 16-year-old Francisco Alvarez from Venezuela. Alvarez was ranked No. 9 on Baseball America’s prospect list, and 13th on the MLB Pipeline list.

Freddy Valdez, a 16-year-old outfielder from the Dominican Republic, received a $1.45 million signing bonus. Baseball America had him as the 29th best prospect, MLB Pipeline ranked him at No. 25.

FRESH FACES

Tampa signed LHP Shane McClanahan, the 31st overall pick in the draft, for a $2,230,100 bonus, $5 Cheap Dalton Schultz Jersey ,700 above slot value. He was a compensation pick for the loss of Alex Cobb in free agency. RHP Matthew Liberatore, taken with the 16th pick, made his debut with the GCL Rays on Friday. He allowed one earned run, one hit, and two walks with one strikeout and a hit batter in 1 2/3 innings, getting the loss.

TRAINER’S ROOM

Rays: RHP Chris Archer will return to the rotation and start Monday against Detroit. The ace has been on the disabled list June 5 due to a left abdominal strain. Archer is 3-4 with a 4.24 ERA in 13 starts this season.

Mets: Manager Mickey Callaway said that it would be ”ideal” for RHP Noah Syndergaard to start July 13 vs against Washington if all goes well with his rehab start Sunday at Class A Brooklyn.

MOVES

Rays: Tampa Bay recalled LHP Adam Kolarek from Triple-A Durham and designated OF Jerry Hazelbaker for assignment.

Mets: RHP Paul Sewald was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas and LHP Jerry Blevins was placed on the bereavement list.

UP NEXT

Rays: Blake Snell (11-4, 2.24 ERA) starts the second game of the series. Snell has won his last three outings, allowing just two runs and eight hits while striking out 26 despite 12 walks in 21 innings.

Mets: Steven Matz (4-5, 3.46) gets the nod in his first start against Tampa Bay. Opponents are hitting just .167 (17 for 102) with runners in scoring position against the New York lefty.

The plaque that rested for years on ski icon Bob Beattie’s desk was inscribed with a matter-of-fact motto: It can be done.

An all-too-fitting mantra for the ski racing pioneer who helped launch the World Cup circuit more than 50 years ago and was part of the commentary crew that called one of the most thrilling Alpine races at the 1976 Winter Games.

Beattie died Sunday in Fruita, Colorado, after dealing with various health issues. He was 85.

”Once he made up his mind something needed to happen, he would keep pounding away until he got it done,” his son, Zeno, said in a phone interview. ”He had a lot of friends and they always came up to him and said Addison Russell Jersey , `If it wasn’t for you, I never would’ve accomplished whatever.’

”He never really thought about that too much. His whole world was about working really hard. And if you worked really hard at something and you did it as a team and not as an individual you can pretty much do anything you ever wanted to do.”

Known as ”Beats” or ”Coach” to his friends, Beattie’s career included stints as coach of the U.S. ski team and at the University of Colorado, where he led the Buffaloes to a pair of national titles.

In addition, Beattie was paired with Frank Gifford to call one of the Winter Olympics’ most famous ski races for ABC – Austrian great Franz Klammer’s electric downhill run to capture gold in `76.

”They realized Bob Beattie and I had a peculiar way of calling it,” the late Gifford once said in an interview with EmmyTVLegends.org. ”Bob loved ski racing. … He would get so excited at the race. My job was almost like `Monday Night Football,’ identify the players and let him go. He brought an unbelievable excitement to it.”

Beattie attended Middlebury College in Vermont, where he lettered in tennis, skiing, football and cross-country running. He became the ski coach following his graduation, where the team finished third at the NCAA championships in 1956.

Soon after, he went to Boulder, Colorado, to be an assistant football coach before taking over the ski program and turning it into a national power. The Buffaloes won the title in 1959 and again in ’60.

That gained him even more recognition and he oversaw the U.S. ski team at the 1964 Olympic Games, where Billy Kidd and Jimmie Heuga finished 2-3 in the slalom. It marked the first two Alpine medals captured by the American men at the Winter Olympics.

”The pressure was severe. We had promised everything – rightfully or wrongfully – we had promised everyone the world Authentic John Tavares Jersey ,” Beattie told U.S. ski team historian Tom Kelly last summer. ”We loved each other. We were a team.”

In the mid-1960s, Beattie partnered with journalist Serge Lang and French coach Honore Bonnet to create the World Cup, with racers traveling the globe to compete. It’s still going strong with stars such as Lindsey Vonn, Mikaela Shiffrin and Marcel Hirscher leading the way.

On Twitter, the racers showed their appreciation:

– ”So grateful I had the chance to meet this innovator, icon, and legend! Rest in peace Bob Beattie,” Shiffrin posted .

– ”R.I.P. Bob … such an amazing and charismatic man who did so much for ski racing. We will miss you!” Vonn wrote .

Over his career, Beattie worked four Winter Games, along with calling volleyball at the `84 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. He also was involved with ABC’s Wide World of Sports and hosted a ski show for ESPN. In 1984, he was inducted into the U.S. ski and snowboard hall of fame .

Beattie also found time to author several books on skiing and started a kids program in the Aspen Valley that flourishes today. The family is planning a celebration with the ski club this fall.

”He influenced a lot of people,” his son said.

Despite his decision to not attend Saturday's Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremonies Mike McGlinchey Color Rush Jersey , Terrell Owens will be "honored" by the hall for his NFL career.

Hall President David Baker tells The Associated Press on Monday that the Canton, Ohio, shrine's mission statement begins with the goal "to honor the heroes of the game."

So Owens, who instead will be making an appearance at the University of Chattanooga , where he played college football, will be part of the 2018 class exhibit that includes a glass locker for each new member; their pictures on the light standards of Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium; a role in opening videos shown within the stadium; and mention in any reference to the 2018 class.

Baker said NFL Network and ESPN, which both televise the inductions, will show a video of Owens' career to the audience at home. That video will not be shown in the stadium.

"It's difficult he will not be here to put on the jacket Youth Alex McGough Jersey , unveil his bust, make a speech, and attend the parade," Baker says. "For those things, there's nothing we can do."

Owens has cited the fact it took three years of eligibility for him to make the hall, claiming there were false representations of him as a teammate during the voting process. He also noted that no former players vote, ignoring that Hall of Famers James Lofton and Dan Fouts are among those on the committee.

The 44-year-old Owens had a mostly sensational 15-year career playing for San Francisco, Philadelphia http://www.49ersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-cassius-marsh-jersey , Dallas, Buffalo and Cincinnati. For him, this could be the opportunity to be honored the way I believe he always felt he should be honored.

"We respect he has strong feelings of his own and I respect his right to make that decision. I invited him to the hall, even at the last moment he would be welcomed, and he is welcomed every day the rest of his life. Even though he is not here, we will honor him to the best of our ability."

Adam Silver sees successes all around the NBA Martavis Bryant Color Rush Jersey , yet can’t stop thinking about the teams who aren’t successful.

And he can’t make them try to be.

Tanking is the problem the NBA commissioner can’t solve.

He can’t force every team to try to win when they all know sometimes there’s more reason to lose. And though he understands rebuilding, he loathes losing on purpose.

”Let me add, I find it an incredibly difficult issue,” he said Friday.

He spoke shortly after ties were broken for positioning ahead of the draft lottery, which seemed a bigger priority than the postseason for some teams this season. And as the Philadelphia 76ers head to the playoffs as the hottest team in the league led by youngsters they drafted during multiple seasons of tanking, it’s hard to tell other teams they can’t do it.

No team was punished for tanking, beyond the $600,000 Dallas owner Mark Cuban was fined for his comments on Julius Erving’s podcast that the Mavericks were better off losing, but there were discussions with other clubs.

”I will just say we had conversations with several teams about what the product was that they were putting on the floor and I’ll leave it at that,” Silver said.

He’s hoping to take some of the incentive of tanking away with lottery that takes effect next season. The three worst teams will have 14 percent chances at the top pick, instead of the current format in which the team with the worst record has a 25 percent chance.

This season that was Phoenix, which appears to also be on a multi-season tanking agenda after shutting down healthy regulars last season. Dallas, Memphis, Chicago and Atlanta also threw out some curious lineups that sometimes looked incapable of winning.

The new format may not stop tanking – and could even make it worse in some respects. Teams only need to be third-worst in the league to have the best shot at the No. 1 pick, rather than having to anchor themselves at the bottom.

So Silver said the league continues to look at the issue, but even he senses that more work is going to have to be done.

”We recognize that our goal is to put the best competition on the floor and it’s balanced against legitimate rebuilding of some teams. But I know we’re not there yet,” Silver said.

”I certainly wasn’t satisfied Seahawks Cheap Jerseys , there can only be so much cajoling out of the league office and it’s one of the those things that the last place I want to go as the commissioner is the league office to start dictating minutes and which particular players should be playing at what points of the game, and I recognize that the incentives are not aligned right now that there’s a huge incentive to increase your chances in the draft lottery especially in the old system. As I’ve said we’re switching the system for next year we’ll see how much of an impact that has.”

Other items from Silver’s remarks after the Board of Governors meetings:

MAVERICKS MISCONDUCT

Silver said the investigation into misconduct in the Mavericks’ workplace that began after a Sports Illustrated report in February could be wrapped up by early summer. He said the investigation includes every Mavericks employee and any former ones who would make themselves available.

”From everything I’ve heard directly from the investigators, everyone has been completely cooperative,” Silver said. ”And by the way, it doesn’t just include interviews. It includes documents, it includes emails. And that’s come directly from Mark Cuban. He’s told the investigators that and he’s told the league office that as well, that he is open book, and he’s demanding himself a thorough investigation. So we’re waiting for the outcome of that.”

PLAYOFF FORMAT

There were no formal discussions about changing the way the playoffs are seeded, with Silver saying there isn’t a better current solution. The Competition Committee did review a proposal for a play-in game and he expects further discussion at the summer meeting.

REVENUE SHARING

Owners agreed to continue the revenue sharing plan that was instituted after the 2011 lockout through the remainder of this Collective Bargaining Agreement, running through 2022-23. Silver said the goal is to make sure all teams, whether paying or receiving, have the most incentive to be competitive.

”You know, nobody is happy who has to write those checks, but I think, again, they understand the league is no stronger than its weakest team,” Silver said.

REFEREE RELATIONS

Silver said there were positive reports from the meetings that Michelle Johnson Youth Justin Jones Jersey , who oversees referee operations for the league, and head of referee development Monty McCutchen with all 30 teams in an effort to sooth friction that seemed to worsen this season.

”So I feel pretty good going into the playoffs that we’ve made some real progress there,” Silver said.

If given the chance, Michael Porter Jr. would have a simple question for those who touted him as the best NBA prospect in this draft class a year ago and no longer do today.

Why?

The way he sees it, Porter was widely considered the best high-schooler in the country 12 months ago – even though he had back issues that led to him having surgery last fall and basically robbed him of his only college season at Missouri. So now, he thinks it’s logical that if his back is better, his stock should be even higher as well.

”I’m still the best player,” Porter said.

And that’s his message at the NBA Draft Combine, going on this week in Chicago. The small forward went through the anthropometric testing – height, weight, wingspan, body fat percentage and so on – but isn’t partaking in on-court matters this week, opting instead to save his statements there until he gets workouts with teams over the coming weeks.

”I know without a doubt,” Porter said. ”I’ve played against all these guys. They’re all great players. But I’m the best player in this draft and I can’t wait to show what I’m capable of.”

The players who are likely to be taken at the very top of next month’s draft aren’t participating in the combine. Arizona’s Deandre Ayton declined an invitation, Slovenian standout Luka Doncic’s season in Europe isn’t in Chicago – his European season isn’t over – and Duke’s Marvin Bagley III only took part in interviews with some teams.

That doesn’t mean intrigue is lacking at this gathering of hopefuls.

Texas’ Mo Bamba, he of the 7-foot-10 wingspan , said he believes he merits consideration from Phoenix for the No. 1 overall pick. Billy Preston Cole Beasley Jersey Womens , who left Kansas in November under the cloud of an NCAA investigation and briefly played in Europe, is in Chicago and insisting that he’s ready mentally and physically for the NBA life. Brian Bowen , who hasn’t played a college game yet – he left Louisville for South Carolina after it became known he was part of the FBI’s probe into college basketball and could only practice with the Gamecocks after enrolling there – is participating as well.

But there might not be a player in Chicago with more intrigue around him right now than Porter, who went from can’t-miss to couldn’t-play.

”Mike is a great player,” said Bruce Brown Jr., a guard who’s leaving Miami after two seasons for the NBA. ”I know him personally. We’re cool as friends. I think he can show the world what he is capable of and what I know he’s capable of.”

Porter is among the 25 or so Chicago invitees who are skipping the 5-on-5 portions of the combine. That’s not a surprise – the trend in recent years has been for players who are likely to be taken with the highest picks to skip some or all of the combine events – but a case could be argued that Porter could have used some game time.

He played in three games at Missouri, one of those for only two minutes before his back surgery on Nov. 21. He returned for two NCAA Tournament games.

Here’s how little Porter played last season: There were 3,505 players in Division I who scored more points than he did in his only college campaign. Porter shot 10 for 30 at Missouri, scoring 30 points in 53 minutes.

Obviously, those aren’t best-player numbers. Everything else on his resume suggests otherwise – 36.2 points and 13.6 rebounds per game as a senior in high school, MVP of the McDonald’s All-American Game, and was both the Naismith and Gatorade Boys High School National Player of the Year awards. He was the fifth player to sweep those, joining Alonzo Mourning, Dwight Howard, Chris Webber and LeBron James.

Big-time company.

”In the workouts, I won’t be holding back at all,” Porter said.

He’s interviewing with a slew of teams this week – New York Cheap M.J. Stewart Jersey , Dallas, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Atlanta, Cleveland, Memphis, Houston and the Los Angeles Clippers so far, with Sacramento, Charlotte, Oklahoma City and Boston still to go. He knows that the Bulls fans are letting anyone who will listen on Twitter know they want him, and said he was impressed how New York’s braintrust knew many things about him.

And make no mistake: He says he is raring to play again.

”I was hoping to turn college basketball upside down, just like a lot of these players,” Porter said. ”But this is just a step in my process. It’s a little different, but I’m more ready than ever. I’ve been dreaming about this NBA stuff for so long. I feel like I’m ready.”

Michael Jordan is getting closer to hiring his next NBA coach.

The Jordan-owned Hornets are narrowing their search after interviewing several candidates, people familiar with the situation said Friday.

The people said the list of coaches who have interviewed include Celtics assistant Jay Larranaga Cheap Darius Leonard Jersey , Raptors assistant Nick Nurse, Spurs assistants James Borrego, Ettore Messina, Ime Udoka and Blazers assistant David Vanterpol. Former Grizzlies coach David Fizdale also interviewed but has since been hired by the Knicks.

Todd Haley's dad played for the Steelers Giants Elite Jerseys , so he grew up in a household where enemy lines were clearly defined.

"I hated the Browns," Haley said.

Not anymore.

After six successful seasons guiding one of the NFL's most high-powered offenses in Pittsburgh, Haley is starting anew in Cleveland with the winless Browns, a team he once reviled but always respected.

Haley was hired last month by Browns coach Hue Jackson, who after two seasons of handling coordinator duties, is turning over both his offense and play calling to the former Kansas City head coach. It's another new challenge for Haley, who was dismissed by the Steelers in the ugly aftermath of their playoff loss to Jacksonville.

Haley opened his introductory news conference on Wednesday by touting a few of his accomplishments during "six really good years" coaching stars Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell with the Steelers, but then made it clear he has moved on.

"I'm looking forward," he said, "not back."

For Haley, the Browns Mason Rudolph Jersey Steelers , coming off a historic 0-16 season, present a new challenge in a coaching career that has had other tests. Following his departure in Pittsburgh, Haley said he was attracted to the Cleveland gig because of his familiarity with Jackson, working with new general manager John Dorsey and bringing back the Browns, who are just 1-31 the past two seasons.

"I had some options, but this really appealed to me 鈥?the challenge aspect of it," he said. "I think there are pieces in place to be successful. I went out to Arizona to be a coordinator, and Arizona had not had much success.

"A lot of people thought I was crazy for leaving Dallas when I did, but man, when you are a part of turning it around and having success, playing in big games and having success in big games, there is nothing like it.

"That is what appealed to me 鈥?the challenge and the people I was going to be working alongside of."

Haley felt the same way in Pittsburgh http://www.bengalsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-malik-jefferson-jersey , almost up to the time that the Steelers chose not to renew his contract, cutting him loose three days after the AFC North champions were beaten 45-42 by the Jaguars. Haley had been criticized for several decisions in that loss, most notably two fourth down-and-short plays that the Steelers failed to convert.

There's no second-guessing in Cleveland. At least not yet.

Haley has spent the past few weeks familiarizing himself with the Browns' roster, which is expected to undergo some major changes this offseason through free agency and the NFL draft.

The Browns own the Nos. 1 and 4 overall picks and will likely use the first choice to select a quarterback. Haley didn't bite when asked if he preferred USC's Sam Darnold, UCLA's Josh Rosen, Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield or Wyoming's Josh Allen, the consensus top QBs available.

However, Haley said it's exciting to be in position to get one of them.

"When you have a couple of really high picks like we do, it is a great opportunity," he said. "As my father always said to me, 'When you are picking in the top 10, Todd Drew Smyly Jersey , you better be right most of the time.' That will be the challenge for everybody involved."

Dick Haley played cornerback for the Steelers from 1961-64, and stayed in pro football after retiring as a player personnel director for Pittsburgh and the New York Jets.

Todd Haley learned at an early age about the Browns-Steelers rivalry, and for the first time he's on the other side of it.

The enemy has changed.

"I always want to beat whoever we are playing," he said. "Blood is thicker than water. Everybody always asked me, we had Steelers stuff stocked up for six years, and people are amazed that when you go somewhere else, you put it in a box and see who wants it."

LeBron James banked in a running one-hander at the buzzer, giving Cleveland a 105-103 win over Toronto on Saturday night in Game 3 and shoving the Raptors to the edge of their most devastating playoff exit.

After the Raptors tied it on rookie OG Anunoby’s 3-pointer with eight seconds left, James took the inbounds pass, dribbled the length of the floor and in one motion, dropped his 10-footer in front of Toronto’s stunned bench.

The Cavs ran and mobbed James and moments later he was back up on the scorer’s table – just like after a game-winner against Indiana last round – to celebrate a win that was up for grabs.

James finished with 38 points, Kevin Love added 21 and 16 rebounds and Kyle Korver 18 for the Cavs http://www.titansauthorizedshops.com/authentic-harold-landry-jersey , who can sweep the Raptors for the second straight year.

Kyle Lowry scored 27 for Toronto, which clawed back in the fourth quarter with All-Star DeMar DeRozan on the bench.

After winning two games in Canada, the Cavs came home and won a brawl with the Raptors, who just can’t beat James. He’s 11-2 against Toronto in the past three postseasons.

CELTICS 101, 76ERS 98, OT

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Al Horford scored the go-ahead basket for Boston late in overtime in a wild Game 3 where the 76ers gave away the basketball and the confetti, leading the Celtics to a win.

The Celtics go for the sweep on Monday.

The ending to regulation was about as wild as it gets for both teams. JJ Redick threw away the basketball on an errant pass to no one that was scooped by Terry Rozier who threw to Jaylen Brown for the basket and an 89-87 lead.

Seconds later, Marco Belinelli stunned everyone with a falling 22-footer in front of the 76ers bench as time expired that sent the game into overtime – and confetti mistakenly blasted from the cannon. There was about a seven-minute delay while team employees scrambled to clean up the mess on the court. Some players even scooped up confetti as everyone waited for the start of overtime.

Belinelli opened OT with a 23-footer and Redick followed with a 3 that appeared to take him off the hook.

But the Celtics wouldn’t let them pull away and Horford escaped for a layup with 5.5 seconds that gave Boston a 99-98 lead. Ben Simmons then threw the ball away after a timeout and Horford sealed the win with two free throws.

Benson was previously married twice, but both had passed away. He adopted three children with first wife Shirley, though Renee is the last surviving one.Born in New Orleans, Benson owned several car dealerships and bought numerous banks. He used his wealth to purchase the Saints franchise in 1985. Under his ownership Cardinals Elite Jerseys , the long-time losing franchise saw significant improvement. After failing to make the playoffs between 1967-86, the Saints proceeded to qualify for the postseason four times in six years, between '87 and 1992. Much of that was due to Benson, who wisely hired Jim Mora to steer the ship and lead this franchise to an impressive run.Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Benson worked hard in repairing the city of New Orleans. A year later, he hired Sean Payton to become the new head coach, while signing legendary quarterback Drew Brees in free agency. The Saints have since enjoyed their most remarkable stretch in franchise history. Benson was among the most caring and kind-hearted owners that professional sports had to offer. But his legacy will forever live on in New Orleans. 鈥?Mike Tomlin isn’t sure how long of a break he wants to give his star players before the postseason begins. The Pittsburgh Steelers coach is going to wait to determine how much Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell and company play during Sunday’s regular-season finale against winless Cleveland. The Steelers (12-3) wrapped up their third AFC North title in four years earlier this month and secured a first-round bye by dominating Houston on Christmas night.A shot at the top seed and home-field advantage in the playoffs remains a possibility, a scenario the relies almost exclusively on the New York Jets beating New England on the road, something the Jets have done only once in the past decade and even that came in 2008 when Tom Brady was out with a knee injury.“We will play to win that football game,” Tomlin said Tuesday. “Who we choose to employ or utilize or activate 鈥?we are in the process of discussing. Make no mistake about it. The expectation will be what it is. The people we put on the field will be expected to play and play winning football.”The Steelers held out Roethlisberger, Bell and Antonio Brown in their meaningless 2016 finale against the Browns when backup quarterback Landry Jones guided Pittsburgh to a comeback 27-24 victory.Jones could again get the call or at least play extensively, though Tomlin insists he’s not going to make personnel decisions based on what the scoreboard is telling him about the game in Foxborough. One decision is already made for Tomlin. Brown will miss a second straight week while recovering from a strained left calf suffered in the first half of a loss to the Patriots on Dec. 17.Tomlin remained noncommittal about Brown’s availability for the playoffs. He hadn’t missed a lot of time over the course of his career here anyway so we don’t have a lot to draw from in that regard.”The only player in NFL history to have 100 catches in five consecutive seasons has been remarkably durable during his rise to one of the best players in the league. He hasn’t missed multiple games because of injury since 2012.The Steelers hardly missed Brown while rolling over the reeling Texans. Rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster caught six passes for 75 yards and a touchdown, Martavis Bryant added three receptions for 60 yards and Justin Hunter, active for just the sixth time this season, hauled in his first touchdown reception in 13 months.“The replacement of Antonio Brown, if you will, is a difficult task, but not if everybody simply does their job and makes the necessary plays when the opportunities come their way,” Tomlin said. “That’s what happened throughout the game for us.”Tomlin anticipates the same “hand in the pile” mentality when Pittsburgh tries to make Cleveland the second team in NFL history to go 0-16 regardless of who is in the lineup. That lineup will not include linebacker James Harrison. Vontaze Burfict is appealing a four-game suspension from the NFL for violating its policy on performance-enhancing substances Adidas Evander Kane Jersey , the third straight season that the Cincinnati Bengals linebacker is facing punishment from the league.

The suspension was first reported by ESPN. The Bengals had no comment on Burfict. They signed free agent linebacker Preston Brown to a one-year contract Friday, giving them depth at the position.

The Bengals have steadfastly supported Burfict, even giving him a three-year contract extension while he was suspended last year. They've had plenty of chances to get accustomed to playing without him.

He missed the first six games of the 2015 season while recovering from knee surgery. He played a key role in the Bengals' playoff meltdown against the Steelers that season, hitting Antonio Brown in the head after an incompletion. The penalty moved Pittsburgh into range for a winning goal in the closing seconds.

The NFL responded by suspending Burfict for the first three games of the 2016 season, citing his history of egregious hits. He got another three-game suspension to start last season after an egregious hit on Kansas City running back Anthony Sherman during a preseason game.

Burfict also was ejected last season during a game at Tennessee for contact with an official, drawing a fine but no suspension for that infraction.

Unless he wins his appeal, the Bengals will have to plan to do without him in September again.

By signing Brown on Friday, they gave themselves another experienced linebacker to help out.

Brown has started 62 games for the Bills, who took him in the third round from Louisville in 2014. He'd made 58 straight starts for Buffalo.

The Bengals also have tried to upgrade their offense by adding a player from Buffalo. They got tackle Cordy Glenn in a deal this week that involved swapping first-round draft picks. The Bills moved up nine spots to the No. 12 selection. The Bengals got Buffalo's pick at 21st overall.

As soon as Jordy Nelson was released by the Green Bay Packers, the Oakland Raiders put on a full-court press to acquire the former Pro Bowler.

His former position coach and coordinator in Green Bay Cheap Customized New York Giants Jerseys , Edgar Bennett, and new Raiders coach Jon Gruden immediately called to bring him out for a free-agent visit. Quarterback Derek Carr picked him up at the airport and gave him a tour of the Bay Area.

Then the Raiders offered a two-year deal worth a reported $15 million that persuaded him to cancel his other scheduled visits and sign with Oakland.

”The plan was to make some other trips, but you never know what’s going to happen,” Nelson said Thursday. ”You get to place and you enjoy it and they enjoy it. Obviously, there’s a financial part of that. One thing I didn’t want to do is fly around the country just because. I didn’t want to waste my time or anyone else’s time.”

The Raiders wasted little time Thursday attempting to rebuild under their first-year coach, releasing receiver Michael Crabtree to make room for Nelson; signing safety Marcus Gilchrist, linebacker Tahir Whitehead, running back Doug Martin and fullback Keith Smith; and finalizing deals with blocking tight ends Derek Carrier and Lee Smith that had been agreed to earlier in the week.

But the most high-profile move came at receiver, where Nelson hopes to bounce back from a down season and help Carr and the Raiders get back to the high level they produced at in 2016.

The 32-year-old Nelson struggled last season with 53 catches for 482 yards and six TDs, recording a career-low 9.1 yards per reception as Aaron Rodgers missed more than half the year with injuries.

”I can make plays http://www.bengalsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-preston-brown-jersey ,” Nelson said. ”I look forward to just getting out, getting in rhythm with Derek and start forming that chemistry with him that I’ve had with Aaron for the last 10 years. Continue to build off that. Just see what happens. Go out there and play my role in this offense. Make the plays that are available.”

Nelson had made the Pro Bowl in 2014 and won AP Comeback Player of the Year in 2016 when he led the league with 14 touchdown catches a year after missing the entire season with a right knee injury.

Nelson had four 1,000-yard seasons in Green Bay, including 1,519 yards on 98 catches in 2014. In 136 career games, he has 550 catches for 7,848 yards and 69 TDs.

Crabtree had a $7.7 million cap hit for this season but there is no dead money with his release. The 30-year-old Crabtree had 232 catches for 2,543 yards and 25 touchdowns in three seasons with the Raiders.

The other big moves came on defense where Oakland added two potential starters to fill holes at safety and linebacker.

Whitehead joins the Raiders after spending his first six seasons with Lions. He has 378 tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles Cheap Nate Solder Jersey , five fumble recoveries, four interceptions and 18 passes defensed in 93 career games.

Gilchrist has played seven seasons with the Chargers, Jets and Houston. He has 11 interceptions, 33 passes defensed, four sacks, five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He will likely step in as a starter alongside Karl Joseph.

Martin, who grew up in nearby Stockton, is a two-time Pro Bowler but averaged just 2.9 yards per carry the past two seasons, the lowest for any back in the league. That was part of what led to his release by the Buccaneers last month.

He joins a running back room that is currently led by Marshawn Lynch, along with youngsters DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard.

”I have been the lead back for most of my career Harold Landry Color Rush Jersey , but what enticed me in coming here is the potential for this team,” Martin said. ”We have Gruden coming. The front line and just being home. I was born here. This is my homecoming. Those are the things that enticed me on signing here.”

The 29-year-old Martin rushed for 1,454 yards as a rookie in 2012, including 251 in a win at Oakland. He also ran for 1,402 yards in 2015 but has failed to reach 500 yards in any of his other four seasons as he was hampered by injuries and a suspension for performance-enhancing substances.

Keith Smith gives the Raiders another fullback along with Jamize Olawale. Smith, a converted linebacker, played only sparingly on offense with the Cowboys but was an important part of the special teams under coordinator Rich Bisaccia, who now holds the same job with the Raiders.

Carrier has 36 catches for 327 yards and one TD in 50 games in his career. He caught eight passes for 71 yards last season with the Rams.

Lee Smith joined Oakland originally as a free agent in 2015 and has been a strong run blocker in his three years with the team. He played 35 games, missing most of the 2016 season with a leg injury. He has 26 catches for 175 and one touchdown with the Raiders.

A trial has been delayed in a lawsuit accusing New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning of selling bogus ”game-worn” equipment to unsuspecting collectors.

Jury selection was to have begun this week, but a death in the family of one of the attorneys pushed that back to next Monday.

Three plaintiffs say they bought two of the allegedly fraudulent helmets from Steiner Sports, which has a contract with Manning to provide the game-used equipment. They claim they will provide evidence that Manning and the Giants’ equipment staff have been defrauding collectors for years.

In court filings, Manning and the team have denied the allegations and have characterized the lead plaintiff as a scam artist who has sold bogus memorabilia himself over the years.

Jury selection is scheduled to begin in New Jersey in a lawsuit accusing the New York Giants and quarterback Eli Manning of knowingly selling bogus ”game-worn” equipment to unsuspecting collectors.

It’s set to get underway Monday in Bergen County.

Eric Inselberg and two other plaintiffs say they bought two helmets from Steiner Sports Authentic Derick Brassard Jersey , which has a contract with Manning to provide game-used jerseys and helmets for sale.

Inselberg says the helmets weren’t game-used, and that emails show Manning engaged in a pattern of deceiving collectors.

Attorneys for the plaintiffs, the Giants and Manning didn’t return messages seeking comment Sunday night.

Ready or not, the Cleveland Browns are getting their close-up.

Coming off a historic, dismal 0-16 season, the Browns have been chosen to appear on HBO’s popular ”Hard Knocks” series that gives NFL fans a behind-the-scenes look at training camp.

The Browns have turned down previous opportunities to be on the award-winning series. But with renewed optimism around Cleveland following the recent draft, and the selection of quarterback Baker Mayfield, the team is granting HBO unlimited access to its upcoming camp.

Cleveland is the 13th franchise to participate in ”Hard Knocks http://www.cowboysauthorizedshops.com/authentic-bo-scarbrough-jersey ,” which began in 2001 with the Baltimore Ravens. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were featured last summer.

Although they’ve won only one game the past two seasons under coach Hue Jackson, the Browns see the show as a possibility to highlight some of their younger players and put a positive spin on their rebuild.

And for HBO, Mayfield’s quest to win the starting job is just one of several juicy story lines.

”NFL Films has always been exceptional at bringing fans closer to the game and they do an outstanding job with every show they produce, including HBO’s Hard Knocks,” Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam said. ”We have been asked multiple times about being featured on Hard Knocks, and we really felt like it was our turn this year and the timing was right. We want to be great partners in this league, and we also recognize Hard Knocks gives fans a special opportunity to learn more about our team and players.”

HBO’s cameras are certain to focus on Mayfield, the brash Heisman Trophy winner from Oklahoma the Browns chose over other quarterbacks. Mayfield is expected to back up Tyrod Taylor this season, but their competition could make for the kind compelling TV that has made the series a must-watch for football junkies.

A 30-person film crew will be at the team’s training facility in Berea to record more than 2 Will Hernandez Game Jersey ,000 hours of footage for the five-segment series that will debut Aug. 7.

The Browns have some good young players who are not well known outside Cleveland. But ”Hard Knocks” will give national exposure to budding stars like defensive end Myles Garrett, Mayfield and safety Jabrill Peppers and give the network a chance to tell the well-documented story of former Pro Bowl wide receiver Josh Gordon, who has missed most of the past three seasons because of drug suspensions.

Mayfield has experience in front of the cameras. He was recently featured in a recent documentary series as he prepared for the draft, and feels the Browns can make ”Hard Knocks” a positive experience.

”For me looking at it, and us as a team, I’d say it can be good if you handle it right. I’ll just say that,” he said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. ”If you think about it as a way to get on camera and try to show off and do certain things and handle it the wrong way then that can be very negative, it can be a distraction. But if you use it as a sense of, `OK Youth Avonte Maddox Jersey , I got to block out everything else and just focus on playing ball,’ then that can be a great thing for us.”

Jackson and Browns defensive coordinator Gregg Williams have both been on ”Hard Knocks” – Jackson with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2013 and Williams with the Los Angeles Rams in 2016.

”Being able to bring our fans in so they can get to know our players and our organization in a different way will be a huge positive for us,” Jackson said. ”I want people to see how much our players and coaches care, how hard they work and how badly they want to win for Cleveland. This will be a great opportunity for our team.”

Browns general manager John Dorsey had reservations about the series, but feels the team is equipped to handle the added scrutiny.

”Once we sat down and talked about it as an organization, I feel a lot better and understand why the time is right,” said Dorsey, who has been overhauling the team since being hired in December. ”Hue and I both feel like this team is in a good place and that we are in the process of building something that will lead to success.”

Colorado prosecutors say they have dismissed charges of harassment and non-physical domestic violence against Broncos safety Will Parks.

District attorney Dave Young's spokeswoman Sue Lindsay said Thursday that the woman who made the allegations didn't show up to testify when subpoenaed.

Parks was arrested in March.

Court documents say his ex-girlfriend told authorities that Parks accused her of taking some of his belongings and made threatening phone calls to her after she went to his home in Englewood to pick up her belongings.

Parks has denied threatening the woman.

The Broncos and the NFL didn't immediately return messages on Thursday. The league can penalize players with or without a conviction if it determines a violation of the player code of conduct occurred.

General manager Ryan McDonough says Trevor Ariza was the first player the Phoenix Suns targeted in free agency 49ers Game Jerseys , speaking with him and his wife via FaceTime from a car one minute after free agency began.

The Suns spent virtually all of their cap space on the 14-year veteran NBA forward, who agreed to a one-year, $15 million contract. On Friday, he was introduced as the newest member of a team that believes it is close to turning the corner after years of losing.

”They are a young team with a lot of talent that don’t know how to win,” Ariza said.

The 6-foot-8 forward will go from Houston, the team with the best record in the NBA last season, to the Suns, who had the worst and haven’t made the playoffs in eight years.

”We need his defensive ability and versatility, his shooting ability,” McDonough said, ”but I think as much as anything, maybe more than anything Jackie Robinson Jersey , we need his leadership and his winning pedigree.”

When the Suns had their first interview with new coach Igor Kokoskov, they asked what free agent out there would fit the team’s needs.

”I swear the first words out of his mouth was Trevor Ariza,” McDonough said.

Ariza, who turned 33 last Saturday, played for the Rockets the past four seasons. Before that, there were stops in Washington, New Orleans, Houston (the first time), the Los Angeles Lakers, Orlando and the New York Knicks. He averaged 11.7 points per game last season, shooting 37 percent from 3-point range. He’s a career 35 percent 3-point shooter averaging 10.5 points per game.

Ariza has made the playoffs nine times and is looking to show the young Suns, with talents such as Devin Booker Yovani Gallardo Jersey , Josh Jackson and this year’s No. 1 overall pick Deandre Ayton, what it takes to succeed.

”In order to be a great team you have to be selfless,” Ariza said. ”You have to be a real live dog to come out there and compete every night. In order to get better, you’ve got to give to your team. If you give to your team, everybody sees it, everybody feels it, and it makes the next person next to you want to give to you.”

James Jones, the Suns’ vice president for basketball operations, said Ariza ”speaks to exactly what we’re looking for.”

”He’s a guy that every time he steps on the court and laces them up, goes out there to try to win,” Jones said. ”It’s not just game day. It’s practice. It’s the way he approaches the game, the way he approaches the off days Matt Belisle Jersey , film, just everything.”

Ariza credited the Suns’ approach for his signing.

”Phoenix was the most aggressive team, and the team that showed the most interest,” he said, ”and, as human beings, we all want to feel appreciated and wanted. When a team just shows that much appreciation with what you do, naturally you’re just attracted to something like that. I understand that this is a situation we have to build to win.”

Ariza has played with Kobe Bryant and James Harden, and he’s looking to help Booker on his drive to be among the best.

”I get to see another extremely talented player to grow,” Ariza said. ”If he needs anything from me, somebody to talk to about different situations, I’ve been around these types of players. The shoes that he’s walking in http://www.falconsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-isaiah-oliver-jersey , or the places that he’s going to go, I’ve seen. So any kind of advice I can lend him, I’m always available to (do) that.”

He also gets to play with Ayton, the 7-foot-1 phenomenon drafted No. 1 overall.

”I think he’s an amazing player,” Ariza said. ”He’s got unbelievable touch. He can get up and down the court. He seems to be a monster on the court. I’m excited to play alongside of him and try and make him better.”

Notes: As for a new contract with Booker, McDonough said the two sides have had productive talks and will continue to talk through the weekend. Booker is expected to get a maximum five-year, $158 million contract that kicks in next year. … the Suns signed all four of their draft picks – Ayton, Mikal Bridges, Elie Okobo and George King. All were expected in the Suns’ Las Vegas Summer League opener Friday night.

Frigid Super Bowl LII brought $370 million in net new spending to the "Bold North" Twin Cities area Billy Price Youth Jersey , according to a report released Tuesday by Gov. Mark Dayton's office and the local host committee.

The final tally by Rockport Analytics came in $50 million over the consulting company's pre-Super Bowl projections. It also said the 10 days leading up to the Feb. 4 game at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis brought in $32 million in new tax revenue for state and local government.

"We hosted well," said Maureen Bausch, CEO of the host committee.

The report put gross local spending by visitors, companies hosting events, and the media and operations teams at more than $450. Subtracting $80 million for tourism displaced by the event resulted in net spending of $370 million that would not have happened but for the Super Bowl, it said. The figures don't include game tickets. Adding in the economic ripple effect brought the total incremental contribution to the metro area's gross domestic product to $400 million Anthony Miller Bears Jersey , it said.

That spending "resounded through the local economy," said Ken McGill, managing director of West Chester, Pennsylvania-based Rockport.

Sports economists tend to be skeptical of revenue claims from massive sporting events, saying that events may be fun for the community but any monetary windfall to a region is illusory.

"The Super Bowl is definitely positive, but nowhere near the $450 million positive in terms of dollars in local people's pockets Youth Jeff Locke Jersey ," College of the Holy Cross professor Victor Matheson said. For examples, he said, hotel revenue goes mostly to out-of-state chains, and money from sales of jerseys mostly goes to the NFL and manufacturers.

Despite subzero cold and heavy snow, the event drew some 125,000 tourists Dellin Betances Jersey , which Rockport defined as ticketed and non-ticketed visitors who came from at least 50 miles away or spent a night in hotel. The report said 83 percent of first-time visitors said they would return. The Meet Minnesota convention and visitors bureau said meeting and convention leads are up 30 percent since the game was announced. Leads were up 10 percent year-over-year in the first four months of 2018 alone.

The report found that the average Super Bowl visitor spent $608 per day during an average stay of 3.9 days, compared with a typical tourist who spends about $124 a day. The Super Bowl generated more than 266,000 hotel nights with an average daily room rate of $249, the report said. Thirteen percent of visitors used peer-to-peer rentals such as Airbnb.

More than 1 million visits were made by locals and travelers alike to Super Bowl Live, the free fan festival held over the 10 days leading up to the game.

U.S. Bank Stadium will be in the national spotlight again next April when it hosts the NCAA men's basketball Final Four. Rockport predicts the tournament will bring $124 million in net spending to the region and $23 million in tax revenue.
